Otet & Glynda visit New York City
As much as I would like to share our pictures with Otet, Glynda and her family, however, my computer is not friendly to me and I cannot wait for that time to come. So let me just give my report without pictures (blah!)....:( Otet came to NYC on the 16th, met with her cousin, Grace, and roamed around the city until 4 p.m. Then they came to the apartment. I was so excited to show them the Riverside Hudson South Park in front of the Trump Places, overlooking Edgewater, NJ. Oh, I didn't realize Otet is not a "walker" person...Oh, oh!!! She sat down and said," I give up!" And I said, "NO, not yet. We have to reach the shed."... She was serious about her aches and pains and I cannot drag her far. So we went home. Felt so sorry for she has to walk back.

Good exercise for her gastrocnemius(bagtak). Otet commented, "Oh what a day!!!" Poor Otet! We waited for Tim to be home and ate dinner with Tim. My never been perfected mongo dish...;-)))) Then we called people whom I knew and her cousin knew to connect them. Telebabad but we forgot Macoy. Sorry, Coy! Night is late but Otet and I were still wide awake so we watched "August Rush" and cried. In the morning, after our breakfast from my favorite kitchen (Olympic restaurant), we went to Time Warner and introduced them to Adam and Eve as we waited for Beng, sister of Macoy, so we all can go to Queens (Flushing) to meet Glynda and her family.

Thanks to Joy Hamoy-Livara for the buffet lunch. Reminiscing the past, updating ourselves with our present world made our table full of laughter and took forever for us to finish our lunch. Otet was always in a hurry and didn't want to walk some more with us. So after lunch, we all went back to Manhattan but Otet and her cousin, Grace, went to the port authority to go back to Atlantic City. Mura gyod og na-ay bata siya nga nabiya-an. So we had to cancel our meeting with Blossom, Monchilou and Moses for dinner date. Next visit na lang ni Otet. However, me, Glynda and the rest went to Central Park and had so much fun talking. Glynda went with the kids enjoying the carousel ride. More walking until we reached the fountain and strawberry field of John Lennon... Glynda's son wanted a hotdog so we went to Gray's Papaya hotdog stand and we ate in the Amsterdam/Broadway park. We walked again down to Lincoln Center and we separated ways. Beng and I went to my apartment and they all went downtown to go to the Rockefeller " top of the rock" scenic view.

Whew!!!! That's what it is.... Manhattan is a city where we have to walk and walk....Too expensive pay parking, too congested to fine street parking. And if you find a good clear space, you must start thinking twice why it's clear...either it's plainly vacant or not safe to park, tow away zone, not time to park, and some other reasons. The safest is to walk...no ticket, blood circulation keeps going, keeping you alive and kicking!!! No heels! Wear your sneakers or flat flip flop. Macoy, thank you very much for the assorted jams and pop chicharon. Jay Dawn, thank you very much for the nice woven table cloth from Iran. I want to place this on our wall not on the table so it won't be stained. Okay Tet, we are looking forward to seeing you on August 23 at Duckpond Park, NJ. Let's go picnic and meet more long lost friends, classmates, colleagues...Till next time and hope with pictures...
cyberly yours,
Jingjing
